  1. Publish Year 2000 recovery plan.

  2. Year 2000 license demo keys for testing critical dates.

  3. Matrix list of year 2000 qualified platform OS & software releases.

  4. Cadence has created an extensive Y2K Readiness web page. The location is:

  5. More knowledgeable support people for NT issues.
    • Cadence is currently training tier one Customer Support Engineers on the installation process for the NT platform. Basic installation questions will be handled by them, more advanced issues will be handled by tier two Customer Support Engineers forthcoming.

  6. IC tools ported to NT.
    • Currently there is limited demand for such a port. Currently there are no plans to port the IC tools to NT. If customer demand changes Cadence will re-examine this position.

  7. Work with Globetrotter to standardize license administration.
    • Cadence is continuing to standardize on a single license file and deamon. Bell Labs tools are scheduled for Q499 and HLD tools for Q200. Cadence recommends the use of FlexAdmin for license administration.

  8. Make NT keys available for Unix customers.
    • For tools available on both Unix and NT, keys are available to float between both platforms. (PE currently)

  9. Sys. Admin. Space on Sourcelink.
    • There is a tenative agreement with SourceLink group. They need ideas and suggestions on what people would like to see on that space.

  10. Timely (2 day) delivery of software updates & licenses after release.
    • Cadence has an automated update program with goal to have all requests completed with three weeks of First Customer Ship. The time can be reduced by contacting your Sales Representative to expedite your order if you are in critical situation - also be sure to request overnight delivery.

  11. Installation support for AFS & DFS servers.
    • The primary file system that Cadence supports is NFS. The Cadence hotline can assist with AFS and DFS installations on a case by case basis.

  12. Environmental variable file path length causes problems.
    • The PCR number for this issue is 212453, it has been fixed.

  13. Provide access to system and tool environmental variables.
    • The various tool manuals in OpenBook have sectins on variables. One of Customer Support managers has committed to generate a comprehensive list and post it on Sourcelink by Q499.
